Cathy Orr
Cathy is a graduate of the Samuel Beckett Centre for Drama & Theatre Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Based in Dublin, she has been acting professionally for the past 7 years after upskilling at The Gaiety School of Acting. Since then, she has amassed over 30 professional credits as well as produced & performed her own original work at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin. Cathy is a versatile actor & has worked across Film, TV, Theatre, Radio, & Online in a variety of roles from situational comedy to intense drama.
Cathy enjoys physical challenge & has a strong physicality supported by extensive dance, yoga, and sea-swim practices. She loves travel & speaks English, Gaelic, French, & German. Cathy has an excellent ear for accents & particularly enjoys the challenge of performing with an accent or in another language other than her native English.
Prior to professional becoming a professional actor, Cathy spent 20 years in the media industry, acting as a public-facing spokesperson for a number of international organisations & training others to do same. Her favourite corporate role was the seven years she spent working for a videogames company, breaking a world record & winning a BAFTA on their behalf. She is still an avid gamer.
In her spare time, Cathy enjoys creating art out of seashells, which she gifts & donates for charity sale.
